We’ll take 2 vales of blood from the mothers’ arm and a mouth swab from the alleged father. This is possible because the child’s DNA can be detected in the mother’s blood while she’s pregnant.
This noninvasive test can be performed at any time once the mother reaches the eight week of pregnancy. The cost of this type of test is $1,485.
There’s also the more traditional way of testing the baby’s DNA before birth. We test amniotic fluids that make up the placenta to determine the identity of the child. These procedures take place at either a hospital or gynecologist’s office and will then be shipped to our laboratory.
The cost of testing a prenatal sample, one mother, and one alleged father is $480, plus any additional doctor’s fees. You can expect to have results five business days after the samples are received in our lab.
